As Dawg said, you might want to give the tie / ps combinational thing a second thought. One more thing: would you mind using multi-quotation? @TTO: Killer!! Amazing suit / shirt / tie combo. @Dawg: Nice shirt / tie combo, not so sure about the sc. @PG: Nice ones. @Rob: that suit is kicking ass, really. Only thing i worry about is the length off the trou. I think you should stay with the short breaks... Some lighter colours today...

Yup. This is really nice. I wish you had a full body shot. I'm thinking this is the case when pinstriped trousers work quite well. I would be even more convinced if you provided a better photo.

So, I'm going to see a play tonight. I'm thinking of wearing a navy blazer on top of a forest-green sweater, a pale blue striped OCBD, a purple gingham cotton tie and white PS. For pants and shoes: pale green cotton incotex and light brown brogued oxfords. I'll snap some pictures if I have enough time later. Do you think it will be hard to pull off so many colors?

Thanks CG. I like the pants the way they are actually, and I do like my breaks shorter. I enjoy the high rise and movement of the leg when I walk in these. As far as the sweater, i can see what you're saying. Between the grey chambray shirt and grey base in the suit, perhaps more of a contrast would work better.

Thanks Nii. You're right on the mark with the coat too. This thing is double vintage. Was (is) a wool/cashmere Made in GB from the 70's that my uncle gave me when I was in high school (effing 18 years ago). Once I started dressing better again (went to private HS, so you needed to be in a jacket and tie everyday, so I needed a proper "overcoat" but my folks weren't rolling in the dough, so much were my uncle's hand me downs) i took it out of the attic at my mom's, had the length cropped, sides taken in, etc...I just don't think it would make it through another major surgery...




DM, IB, MrD, thanks. The suit is a vintage Turnbull & Asser that I got off the bay about 4 years ago for some silly price like $75 or something. Still one of my best scores of all time. Very heavy tweed as well.

Very handsome combo, Spoo-meister - worth logging on from home to see - and congrats on the upcoming vacation. As much as you're working the Black Fleece as best as you can, I'm sorry, it's not a cut of clothes suited to anyone, IMHO, save for a midget stick figure, which, for your part, you are happily not. Great vintage(?) suit RG, but the trousers do have to come up a bit - that's a bit too much break. However, if anyone could carry off that fabric, it's you - the jacket looks amazingly well on you. Spoozy - thanks for the compliment, and the suggestion for multiquote (That Other Website either doesn't have said feature, or it doesn't work, hence my stupidity in not using it sooner). I have tried not to act the technological Neanderthal, and have practiced using it in the very posting! Your combo today was cool - a bit restrained for you, but definitely you.
