He doesn't seem to be the one with the problem.

I appreciate that you like my coat, and I accept that you don't like hats. Fine. But the condescending angry-young-jet-setting sartorialist act is a little old. Your stuff looks great. I don't think I've seen anything you've shown I wouldn't love to wear myself. That said, I put together what I like. As I'm quite a bit older than you I'm not the little boy around here. You'll find you'll get along in life a lot better when you actually show people kindness and respect, son.

I must have hit a sore spot - my first critical comment in your direction and bam! I don't begrudge you for wearing what you like to wear but you are posting pictures of yourself on a website.

^If people don't like the hat they can feel free to say so. But a website, and a poster, which seems to be focused on classic men's clothing cannot deny that the fedora is the classic way to deal with inclement/cold weather. I understand they are not fashionable. Again, fine. But they are classic. And due to my advanced years, I am follically challenged, and hats keep my head warm. Perhaps I should simply wear NFL team sock caps. I have no ill will toward you, and I certainly admire your taste in clothes. You have a tendency on the forum to be rude and dismissive. If you want to be that way don't be surprised if someone objects.

Very well put.

It's possible for something to be classic yet still not look good on you.

My point exactly. I don't like hats in general but realize they are functional and can be pulled off by a few folks. Ill fitting hats that are extremely out of proportion with the wearers head is another matter however...

It's a medium spread from Joe Hemrajani. I take out the stays so it kinda softens up.

True, although I would argue that's like telling someone that he shouldn't wear sportcoats or captoes or overcoats because they just don't look good on him. You don't like them because you're not used to people wearing them.

Again, you don't have to like them. I won't lose any sleep over it. Lots of people on here wear lots of things I would never wear and from my view doesn't look good. Hats fall outside the SF uniform; I understand that. That someone doesn't like hats, or doesn't like them on me, is fine. They can say so. My point is I prefer not to be talked down to or denigrated. If you do it, don't express shock if I push back.

I prefer this too.

This is actually presumptuous and condescending. I love hats, think they look great on lots of men, and wish more wore them. I've seen pics of you wearing hats that look good on you. I don't know why you would presume whnay's comment (or mine) implies something against hats or some kind of general hat ignorance.

At least a generalization, but I think an accurate one. My apologies.

Click

Again, if someone doesn't like hats or my hats on me, that's fine. They can feel free to say so, and I'm not really concerned with converting anyone (not that I wouldn't like to see it). But I have my own views on it, and plan to follow those views.

I've more than had my say, and will stop derailing the thread.
