HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part II - Page 1678

Good looks today gents. Lufty, w.o.e., dope 3 pieces.

Spoo, I. Want. That. Sport. Coat. All you guys in sport coats almost makes me want to buy a gajillion of 'em.

Speaking of which: Nii, you always look understated & elegant.

Rob, you're my east coast brotha, but: this is the one time where buttoning your SC does no favors. I'm 5'8"ish and some sport coats just cut me in half & make me look like an Oompa Loompa. Could be why I avoid wearing them...

Just a quick question from a n00b: what is your ratio of sport coats : suits? I would think SCs would be the business exception, but I'm seeing what appears to be 1:1.

Bear in mind, I work in the music software industry, which is why I might be a little out-of-touch.

Im new to SC's... and thanks for the compliment on mine.. but Ive slowed down with suits and started getting more SC's - so Im running about 60/40 in favor of suits at the mo'.

Thanks for all the nice comments.

It's already Friday here in China but I don't have anything for today's contest so here is another standard office look.

Walk into closet, close your eyes, and hope for the best?

Suit and shirt: Polo by RL
Tie: Nick Hilton
Pocket Square: Seward & Stearn

Pay no mind to the ill-tied tie, the ruffled pocket square, as well as the collar of the shirt. I'm pulling an all nighter tonight studying, and this is my break time. I still haven't been able to find anything to pair with this suit that looks decent.

Perhaps...Halloween?

Okay, I'm not sure if I qualify for this one, but I'll give it a try. The jacket
is technically not second hand, but was quite severely altered by a second
hand (?) and bought at a bargain about 8 years ago. And it's a 3B, ergo
vintage (?). And the tie is four in hand, which is like second hand twice (?).
And the shirt is about 7 years old, which is 35 in 'suit years', so it's virtually
from the mid-70s (?). And the PS is vintage-madder-dyed (?). And I'm vin-
tage myself (1971). And the whole look has a vintage touch (?). And I hope
that's enough (?).

I actually do wish more people would take back shots occasionally so that I could develop a better idea of how jackets are supposed to look from behind. But it would be just too creepy to ask.

This must be one of the most descriptive and to-the-point responses that I've read on this forum.

That´s it for now...now get back to the cellar and turn up some more 3pcs and Ercole scs

Thanks for the comments fellas. Not defending the look, the white tee was bad, but sometimes I'm just a tired dad, and my baller alter-ego has to be checked at the door. Peacoat would have helped, but it just wasn't cold enough, was actually quite nice. Anyway, to a more philosophical point, I think that posting even when you're not at your best is important. Everyday I leave the house for more than just a run, I do try and post what I'm wearing (well, except the summer, cause y'all would just get angry/jealous, LOL) because I think it gives a better frame to a person's overall style. I also think we should post when we're not so confident in our attire, because we all still should be learning something. For me, I know I need to find a diff tee to wear with this and that its a good thing I'm saying goodbye to the coat (a touch long for me). Anyway, to more pressing matters. w.o.e. and lufty sweet suits. W.o.e., give it up, where'd you kop? UC I'm like 10:1 SC: Suits. Even in the winter, I have 3 suits in the rotation, and two are tweed. However, I will be adding one to that (the grey pants are being made up as we speak for that SC) and my next commission in the spring will be a loud ass three piece suit.

My red socks weren't clean. So, black it was.
