I'm aware of the rule. Was just about to sit down for my coffee. But I'll be more careful with my shots in the future.

My man ... do what makes you feel comfortable ... not to abide by the SF rules. Why should anyone be stipulated to button their jacket everytime they are standing. I understand sitting, because it doesnt put strain on the buttons etc etc.

What is the justification for this "standing closed" rule?

Because you'll never know when somebody will take a photograph of you!

Nii, I feel the same way as you. I was hoping my response would be taken as a bit of tongue in cheek, actually.

I don't think standing closed is a hard and fast rule personally, and if I want to look more laid back, casual, or "unbuttoned" (sorry, that was bad) then I let my jacket hang open.

I like to have my jacket buttoned for standing SF shots mostly to give a better idea of the fit...and slightly to avoid being chastized.

My understanding is that this rule comes from the view that well tailored jacket is more flattering to the physique, adds more triangle to the torso and can be slimming, when it's closed. And I immagine some think it just looks less sloppy this way.

The jacket and tie color combination totally owns. Well done. Not feeling the pocket square though.
