A good example of what I consider "basic" is what PG is doing lately; grey & navy suits, white & light blue shirts, sombre ties. There's no way you can't be interested in that.

It comes down to perception and opinion.

Hmm... but there generally is at least a consensus (e.g. Spoo's orange tie).

It's not taboo at all, what would be taboo would be to add a tie.

I just want to tell all of you that I've learned so much from just lurking and watching on this forum in the past little while - so thanks to all of you great dressers who've given me so many awesome ideas. Now time to put it all together, set the camera timer and see if this grasshopper has actually learned from the masters.

Agreed, looking great. But if I can offer a slight constructive criticism, your trousers always look like they need a press, particularly around the knee area. But it could be the way you are standing when you pose perhaps?

^^^ Hmmm Gnatty- you know I like bow ties but this fit and the last one (with the herringbone) just seem rather incongruous to me.

I usually like how you work the bow... my focus is probably a bit fuzzy.

Thanks Lou - and the PS is another B&S score - so thank RJMan too.

Thanks MoK - I do appreciate it. Your fit today was great- and while not clothing related, your variety of background cityscapes you have to choose from is remarkable. Each one is just great.

I hope it didnt suck Mike! This suit is one of my favorites. Well done. Just curious if you are sourcing these preowned? No need to answer here if you dont want, but most of your Polos have large sleeves, or at least is seems from the angle of your phone pics. Just wondering if you had large biceps that necessitated this or it was just my eyes? The shoes are killer too.

- Are you sucking in, or do you have a waay smaller stomach compared to your chest? If so, you may benefit from a fuller waist on your jackets to make the proportions better. That is properly counter-intuitive, since waist suppresion is the forum flavor, but that may be a way to counteract your body structure.

Thanks Nii - I was sucking in. You got me. I put on like 10lbs from my fighting weight recently and Im struggling to fit the pieces I had done up in tailored fits when I was smaller. I do have really broad shoulders, but a little tummy is coming. Gotta lay off the Chinese food at work.

Thanks man - this is what I was going for today. And I cant say I didnt look at your Morrissey pose from earlier in the week from the waist down to not draw some inspiration for the pant/sock/shoe combo today.

God bless you TB - but as long as I have existed, those words have never been used to describe me.

I dont think you get it man. I have absolutely 1000% no interest in wearing the sort of clothes PG does. I think he executes it beautifully, looks great, and has great style, but thats his style. Not mine. grey and navy suits, white and light blue shirts, somber ties - meh. Puts me to sleep. Thats YOUR style. Thats HIS style. Thats not MY style. And if you dont like it, thats your TASTE. Its a big difference, and I dont think I can explain it any longer. If you dont get it, you dont get it.

Not necessarily, as the comments left were about 60/40, even though the more vocal ones were throwing it to the fire.

Most of the men have on some kind of short sleeve sport shirt and tailored pleated trousers, and many of them are wearing or holding straw hats. I always admired the way those men, predominantly proprietors of small businesses, dressed on a day-to-day basis. Most of them bought their clothes from my grandfather and father, so I guess I come by it naturally.

I love your hawaiian themed shirts -- you look great in those.

^ Well done, gregaz! I like those trousers a lot. Is the OCBD (?) round 2 from Hemrajani?

What shoes are you wearing? Looks like shell, but I might be wrong.
