The tux cost £100, semi canvased, and is in it's raw state. I will hve it tailored when my man is available, such as having the legs slimmed down and possible some alteration on the waist of the jacket.

Yup. Not uncommom. It's a cardboard square with the points of a square (only) stapled to it.

Perhaps the solution is hanging out with women who regularly spend time with well dressed men, as opposed to the kind of guys who wear fake pocket squares...
