Where to find extra-dark chocolate?

Does anyone know if I can find this at Whole Foods? I have heard they carry Scharffen Berger but never actually went to look. I'd prefer to find something easier than ordering Pralus off the internet.

I'm looking for something in the 95-100% range.

Why in the hell would you want 95%?

A friend of mine has an odd taste for it and his birthday is coming up, I figured it could be something inexpensive that he would enjoy. I could settle for 86% Ghirardelli, but, well, it's Ghirardelli. Last resort if I can't find anything else.

I saw Scharf on sale in Whole Foods when I was living in DC... not sure if they have a 95%, but it's just an easy phone call away. I bet Balducci's, Wegmans, or Dean & Deluca would have some. I know there's a Leonidas store in Georgetown that would have that stuff, or even Chocolate Chocolate on Connecticut.

Yes, you can find that at Whole Foods.

Got some Scharffen Berger at Whole Foods the other day; unfortunately it was only 70%. Also got some Valrhona, but again only 70%. Would have preferred something in the 90-95% range, but wanted to try something beyond Lindt/Ghirardelli/Green & Black. They should have Vosges as well, but I didn't notice anything all that dark.

Good call, extra dark is so good! Bitter > Sweet.

I lead tastings a few times a year and we lead up to 95% and even 100%. Domori does it right, it's quite amazing and very very well done. You just can't buy any super high cacao content chocolate, you should be buying only the best.

I am not cool enough for anything over 85% or so. It just tastes like chalk.
