Haha. I get it. The 8k is only one factor. But I guess I may be undervaluing the emotional cost of the shit job. Also maybe overvaluing the investment on the house.

Ok, let's say it's 50K, do you want to be stuck in a shit job for 50K? There might be a financial point where a a finance guy will remain in a job he hates for money but it is hopefully much higher than that in your case...Certainly not worth the financial advantage of a few house buying incentives and a buyers market.
