Unlike the photo with the bird, which is from the maker, I belive the shot with the adult male in school boy jacket is a snapshot outside of the building in Carlisle from which Mahon works.

I have no idea who the dude is, but I think he must be a bit beyond sixth form.

Also, isn't that a $27 jacket that can survive multiple trips into a washing machine?

Yeah, let's see the geek grandees of Cutter & Tailor do that.

If memory serves, he is making those coats in China. When I started traveling to China, CMT on a full canvas suit was between $26 and $34....... I feel a shitstorm coming over that one............

Note patterns hanging on the wall, just like A&S, Rubinacci and Sciamat.

Mmmm, school blazers here in Blighty usually have 3 patch pockets and metal buttons, with the school crest sewn on the breast patch and no, not like Hogwarts! Sixth form eh! Your knowledge of the British school system is impressive Mr V.

For everyone who assumes that factories in China are dingy sweatshops, I don't know of any factories over here that have workrooms as big, bright, and clean as that one. And it's pretty average by Chinese standards......

Add the cost of cloth, royalties, shipping, quota, import duties, manufacturer's markup and retailer's markup.... That's how you make a half-canvas suit to retail for under $300. Prices have skyrocketed over the past ten years, but you get the idea.

We pay premium (10x compared to those prices) to have our MTM made in Germany... Fused, that is!

On the C&T we have a mother of a boy wearing school uniforms of teflon coated material. She claims that it's quite resistant, which seems to be it's main purpose. So I guess another "one size fits many" approach doesn't create much bother. I wonder if those boys and girls are aware of their increased style quotient...

$26 and $34....Canadian dollars?

Try adding more roughage to your diet. It will go away soon.

No, US dollars (not that there's a difference anymore). Back then, the Chinese liked those. Now, not so much.
