IPod Shuffle Kit for running?

Do you guys recommend the Ipod Shuffle for running? The buds do not fit in my ears so I need a pair that fits on the right way, however I know that you have to use the buds in order to use the shuffle. Any experiences? Thanks!

Find one of the previous model.

You can use any headphones with the shuffle, just has to have the right input (I have one, and don't use Apple headphones). I use wrap-around ones, so they stay on my ears. Also, just clip it to your shorts.

The third generation model has no controls on the unit, just on the headphones. So there is no way to advance songs with third-party headphones.

Ahh, did not know this. That is quite unfortunate for the OP.

the 3rd gen ipod shuffle is a joke - when I saw how small it was I wanted one immediately - but once I found out you have to use the ipod bud headphones I said no thank you - there's not a worse pair of earphones for the gym in my experieince.

You might try the refurb section on the apple website. You can generally get some previous generations there.

Dammit. Im in Taiwan currently so Apple would be the easiest option at a retail store. Now I have to go around searching for a similar product...

Sansa Clip is better in almost every way.

I see lots of second gen Shuffles on eBay. Use Gixen, create a group, add a whole bunch, set a max bid, and wait to win one. Or check out the Sansa Clip, seems pretty cool.

+100. The Clip pwns that piece of shit from Apple. Better yet, get a Clip+, it allows you to add a miniSD card for extra storage.

Add another for the Sansa Clip. Small player with a clip on it (duh). Good ound quality as well. On downside (if you can call it that) is that I don't think you can use it with iTunes so if your music is already in that bloated, POS program you may want to think otherwise.
