FedEx drops undeliverable pkgs at post office?

I ordered a book from Borders and found this info on the tracking page: "Customer not available or business closed - Please contact local Post Office to pick up or reschedule delivery" I thought they usually leave a note on your door and all that. It's not a big deal, I'm just not used to this.

FedEx sucks balls from the receiving end. They deliver to my home address weekdays around noon...because people are usually home then...and then when it goes to my work address its after 5...drives me CRAZY. Then if I don't want the item sent back, I have to go to Brownsville or Sunset Park to pick up...Sunsets a pain in the ass, and Brownsville is...well...Brownsville.

Delivery companies will sometimes use USPS on the very last leg of the trip.

I fucking HATE FedEx Ground... those pieces of shit contractors will just leave packages in your front door even if you live an apartment. I wish FedEX would just drop of shit at the post office if no one is home.
