Per the markings on the base, a lamp from the former ship ZUIHOUMARU (瑞豊丸), of Kobe (神戸). Screw top for use with a bulb/umbrella type lampshade. As you can see, it's designed to be used two ways -- tabletop, or you can reinsert the shaft and make it perpendicular to the base for wall hanging. $80 OBO. Paid more and had to hunt this down in Japan. Comes with original socket if needed.
