Unofficial Wine Threak.

I can't live at a house someone else owns, particularly if they keep reminding me they own the house. So just like Festivus, I am starting a threak for the rest of us. It will be everyone's threak.

Had a 2006 Stefania Uvas Creek Cab. Sauv. for dinner tonight. Very fruit forward, obviously not a two decade wine, very smooth and lots of berries and eucalyptus on the nose.

I was feeling pretty happy over the liver and cholesterol news, so:

Then we wanted something light to sip in front of the fire tonight. As I said somewhere else, we were surprised to find Novy Family Viognier was very tasty to us. It's light, citrus, some oak...perfect for sipping by the fire.

Raoul, I've got a few bottles of that in the cellar and I think we've drank one already. If memory serves, we decided to put those babies down for a few more years.

Just opened the 05 Rosso Di Montalcino. Going to let it breath for a couple hours, come back, and have it with dinner. I'll keep you all posted, as I'm sure you're on the edge of your seats.

Noice!

Speaking of which, my three Barolo are due in this week.

Actually, was doing a gomestar search (seeing what Italians I have in the cellar) and I think I might be drinking one soon.

the good news is, you're going have nearly 50% more of Italy this week!! (alternatively stated, increase your overall cellar by 0.008%)

Leftover Martini & Rossi 'sparking wine' from New Years Eve (with a candle jammed down into the empty bottle). . . . and a country ham biscuit. The sweetness of the sparking wine compliments the saltiness of country ham fairly well. The biscuit absorbs the grease from the ham. Not Pio caliber, I know. Very small-timer.

The tiny biscuit on that big plate is cute.

It's the material results of getting rubbed the wrong way (again) after two bottles of wine. I'm sure it will die a natural death. I plan to just start using the pinned drinking thread.

I am too stupid and lazy to follow more than one wine thread, so can we consolidate somewhere, please?
