I dislike cardigans with pockets. Am I wrong? - Page 2

I like and have cardigans with pockets and prefer them. AAMOF I don't have any without pockets.

But if no pockets is your preference I don't see anything wrong with it.

I'll consider this. I currently only have a couple of v-neck sweaters which make me, aged 22, look like a school kid/harry potter (which is odd as they're from T.M.Lewin so have a v that is too small).

I think I'll go for a John Smedley for the same price. Disappointing as it's in merino.

As was mentioned before in other posts, you should be able to find in UK and online (e.g ebay, asos.com) John Smedley on deep discount.

IMO cardigans look like old people sweaters and pockets only make it worse.

Four pockets on a four-ply sweater strikes me as just about ideal.

I hope you all got that the WRONG! was tongue in cheek. As with most things, go with what you prefer. Me, I like pockets. On the cardigan, the pockets also serve as useful storage for a pipe and tobacco.

cardigan with no shawl collar = no pockets

3 year necro, but for a reason...

I've only recently come around to the idea of a "chunky" type cardigan, especially a shawl collar; and finally put my finger on the fact that I have a subconscious dislike for pockets on them.

Take this Dover by John Smedley. It's fantastic, just what I want, except those bags err, pockets, hanging off the front. They look OK when it's in a lying flat, catalog type of pic but as soon as it's worn, they just look sad. I understand it's a classic look, and I wish I could just get over it, but they bug me...

Pockets from the side, or some where they are jetted (ie hidden) can be ok, but not the ones like this...
