Do you like dress shoes with rubber soles?

More comfortable?! Wouldn't agree on that.

My only reason to wear rubber soles is bad weather. As for dress shoes particularly, since I wear them extremely rarely, I think leather soles is the way to go. Without doubt.

Strange. I consider leather soles to be balsam whenever I wear it... which isn't too often, sadly.

Anyway, as long as you have dress shoes with thin rubber soles, they can still look nice.

I personally wouldn't buy a pair of rubber soled dress shoes, although I admit Ive done it before in my pre-SF days.

I prefer leather, and find my leather-soled shoes to be very comfortable all day. I do have a few pairs with rubber soles for bad weather days.

I have a few pairs of Eccos with rubber soles and they are useful in the really sloppy winter weather, when I'm OK with sacrificing style for practicality. And honestly, I've walked MILES in them on a daily basis (summer vacations in Paris = tons of walking) and they remain comfortable all day.

But when I'm dressing for success, my shoes are leather soled.

I think a lot depends on the surface. Some buildings have marble floors, which are an invitation to a broken limb, using leather soles, with any trace of moisture. Rubber soles give better traction.

I bought a pair of rubber soled brown dress shoes before my SF days. They still look good, and are from a SF approved maker so I think they make a good rainy weather shoe. However I wouldn't buy more than one.

if you're doing anything other going from your house to a car to a carpeted building without any real distance of walking, rubber.

if you dont actually have to walk anywhere in them, leather. which makes a much nicer footstep sound.

My leather soled shoes are very comfortable (after breaking them in, of course). I dislike rubber soled shoes. I have overshoes for bad weather.
