Gear... lifts can include ply denim suits and other small tricks that can add serious poundage to your numbers and are used by powerlifters in competitions and in training.

People train in gear? I mean regularly, not just to test the gear itself or do mock comps.

Yeah. Gear is treated just like bands, chains, boards... whatever. At my gym we usually suit up for a week every 2 months or so. It takes a lot to be able to really utilize your bench shirt/suits so you gotta practice too.
