EMP got off easy, current NYT critic panned their new menu as gimmicky and out-of-touch but did not do so in a formal review therefore allowing them to hang onto their current **** rating. Was basically a warning shot.

I'll be in NYC in december with my girlfriend. Would love a suggestion for a cozy romantic place for dinner. We'll be staying in the upper west side.

Would dovetail fit the bill?

I love browsing the EMP book for the beautiful photos; shame the food wasn't that great when I went. If you google EMP the photos mostly depict delicious looking food but I went in the middle of summer and the plates seemed to fall a bit short.
