It's been going on for too long and I think it should stop. What are your thoughts?

I still think it's pretty cool actually. It used to be a sign of quality, but now you even see suits at H&M with ticket pockets.

It's been around for 200 years. Are you Highlander?

Just because it's been around for 200 years doesn't mean it can't be a fad. Not that I don't like the look, what makes it cool is that not ever jacket has one but now almost every jacket does.

Just like this ridiculous narrowing of the width of the lapel to 1 inch. It looks ridiculous.

Personally, I would rather see the peaked lapel SB trend go out the door before the ticket pocket. That and the ultra skinny lapel trend. I got no beef with ticket pockets, there pretty rare on Italian brand suits.

Then you apparently don't know what a fad is.

I think working buttons are more the fad. I got working buttons on a lowish end pea coat. I didn't even notice when I bought them.

Fad, in-fashion, whatever. the ticket pocket is definitely overused. I also dislike this whole shoulder tabs thing that are popping up on almost every coat out there.

What are you going to say next, that jacket sleeves are overused as well? I can understand that as a stylistic choice you do not prefer the ticket pocket, and apparently nor do I, as I have not opted for a ticket pocket on any of my last MTM suits when I could easily request it. But my preference is not because everyone from Express to Banana Republic is using ticket pockets, I just don't need another mini flapped pocket to put my ticket when I have two hip pockets and 4 or 5 interior ones I can use.

Ticket pocket look great on the right suit.

What I find difficult to stomach os ticket pocket + slanted pockets.

I would probably have ticket pockets on my sports jackets, but not on my suits. Is that sensible? I think a suit should have fewer details whereas a sports jacket should be more fun and utilitarian.
