With Bill it was after he was out of office (yes, yes, I know Palin is an ex Gov., but that doesn't mean she isn't still a candidate for something else, and Bill as an ex. Pres. pretty much makes him a non-candidate for anything [though I think I recall a former Pres later becoming a Senator wayyyyy back?]). Worse, as you know, comedian's take on Bill's follies are all essentially a slap-on-the-back ala "heh man, got some in the oval? <snicker>"?
I have no problem with people who have legitimate differences of opinion with Palin (let's discuss!!) but the incessant denigration by the mainstream media and celebreties is appallaing. It's amazing to me that our culture has gotten to the point where it's enjoyed and repeated, let alone tolerated.
What you posted, to me, is the absolute worst of what America has to offer for political commentary - essentially, toilet water. It started with George W. Bush but has fallen to a whole new level with Palin.
It pains me to say that at least if the playing field were level - ie everyone was getting dragged through the mud - well then, at least we'd all be talking about muddy candidates and characters. But it's obvious that liberals and, specifically, Obama was (and still is) the Golden Child.
ps. in a political discussion with some co-workers the other day, a former ardent Obama supporter said he doesn't think he'll be voting for him in 2012 (because, from his perspective, Obama is too moderate) unless Sarah Palin is running, in which case he feels he will have no choice but to vote for Obama to save the country from her. Hmmmm - interesting. I asked him what he disliked about her, he sneered with a "don't you know?" look and said "She's dumb". I asked for an example, he cited the oft quoted "I can see Russia from my house." except I pointed out that Tina Fey from Saturday Night Live said that, not Mrs. Palin. What Tina Fey was riffing on was Palin's comment that in relation to foreign threats, as governor of Alaska she ran the state closest to the former Soviet Union (and inferring that, as such, she had unique experience on the matter). "Whatever, she's still dumb." he said. And so it goes...
