Average height for US caucasian adult males

I just remember just awhile ago, avg height for white adult males was about 5'9. and then last year i remember they said it was 5'10.
now i checked and they say it is 5'10.5 as the average.

and all of these were statistics for recent years. so i dont get it, are they going to say avg height will be 6 feet one day this year? then that puts me in the short category.

im beginning to think these statistics are not accurate and perhaps measured with shoes on or something.

basically, where is an accurate source for this information?

Huh? Is that so important to you? For the record I'm 5'8" and don't feel particularly short walking around, I'd still say the average US height is more along 5'10" or so but that's a huge guess...

Don't worry, height usually takes a couple of decades to vary much, you'll be a decrepit oldman by then. The 5'8"/5'9" number (think it was 5'8") came from WWII as all the dudes drafted were measured. I think the average shoe size was 9. It's not a topic I follow much so that's all I can contribute. In my experience the biggest variation I have with American people is over weight, not even funny when I walk the streets.

The figure you poasted is for Caucasian males. Why compare yourself to roundeyes? You are probably just right for an Asian guy.
