I can't decide between Full Circle and City of Death. Discuss.

It's been a few years since I've watched any. Netflix time.

It's funny because a few years of Adult Swim has completely destroyed my already shitty attention span.

Tom Baker Dr. Who is about the only thing that captivates me from beginning to end.

Everything else I have to take breaks or watch in chunks these days.

Do you watch the current Dr. Who?

Nope I've never seen any incarnation of Dr. Who except for the Fourth.

You should try it. The writing is inconsistent, but some of it's quite good. Eccleston and Tennant were both very well cast. Tennant is my favorite Doctor after Baker. You should also try some Pertwee.

Thanks! My GF is a bit of an Anglophile and thinks the last Dr. Who before the current one was cute, so I think I'll probably be seeing those next.

Mine too.

Favourite Tom Baker stories... ah there are so many! City of Death, of course, it's a classic, as are Genesis of the Daleks and the Deadly Assassin. The Talons of Weng-Chiang is generally reckoned to be one of Tom's best stories, if not the best.

But I also like Terror of the Zygons (one of the earliest stories I can remember), the Pyramids of Mars (genuinely terrifying to watch as a child) and The Horror of Fang Rock (which was ropey as hell, a Hammer pastiche, but very enjoyable nonetheless).

Easy: Brain of Morbius. I mean, it's got a talking brain in a jar. Also have a soft spot for the Sun Makers, an underrated story by old Who's best writer, Bob Holmes.

Pyramids of Mars is another good 'un, and Holmes had his finger in that one as well. Sutekh brings you the gift of death.

I don't think Fang Rock is ropey at all, personally. (Well, not ropey by '70s Who standards, anyway.)

The Sontaran Experiment was great! I love the Sontaran...any more eps with this race?

Genesis of the Daleks 1 and 2 are next on my que since apparently Ark in Space leads into Sontaran, which leads into Daleks.

Pyramids of Mars was awesome, as well as Brain of Morbius. Thanks!
