But Edgar Martinez didn't make the Hall of Fame today. I think it's utter bullshit to.

Yeah I'm talking about baseball. Not one of those sissy sports like curling, bowling, or soccer.

I heard this too. I think a first ballot HOF was out of his reach, given the dementia that takes over when people discuss allowing a DH into the HOF. He will get in eventually. I still can't believe Blyleven isn't in. Who dick does a guy have to suck to get into the hall of fame these days?

^dawson didn;t get on base enough for my taste. alomar should be in. ditto mcgwire.

on the other hand, I just don;t think blyleven was ever good enough. was not even once the best pitcher in his league.

That is not specifically part of the criteria for being voted in.

"voting shall be based upon the player's record, playing ability, integrity, sportsmanship, character, and contributions to the team(s) on which the player played."

As for his playing ability in general, His pitching numbers compare favorably to or better than people already in the HOF.

Since 1900, Bert Blyleven ranks 5th in career strikeouts, 8th in shutouts, and 17th in wins.
