So true! I get so annoyed by people with Bluetooths talking loudly so that the whole world can hear them.

I use earbuds at airports and on planes. They help to keep people from trying to talk to me.

I can't exactly put my finger on why this gives me heartburn, but it does. The thing is, it's not like I am some sort of anti-music whacko. Quite the opposite; I love music and am an ameture musician myself, having been proficient at 4 instruments and currently a 15 year drummer. Anyone else on board with me?

No

I listen to mine on the Metro quite frequently. I prefer to think I am not ruining anyone's day by listening to music during my commute. Although I am on board with the statement regarding the DBs who are completely out of touch with the rest of the world because they have their earbuds in.

+1. There's something about a person hiding from reality in their ipod that I find really annoying, at the gym especially when you sometimes need to talk to them to ask if they're done with something or whatever. Are they incapable of appreciating silence or quietude? I listen to music in the right mood and setting, not just every idle moment I have... I don't even really know what an ipod even is and I'm 24.

The really good news is that in 20-30 years, all the iPod-listening douchebags will be deaf, so you'll have to shout at them when you order your Big Mac or renew your driver's license.

I know it's that little white thing people listen to, but I have no idea how it works... or how it's different from an iphone or itouch crap. Never owned one.

If something this trivial upsets you that much on your commute to work, I can't imagine how rough it must be when something of real importance happens

THIS. However, while the douchebags constantly needing to listen to their iPod 100% of the time are annoying, they pale in comparison to the douchebags who constantly need to be on their iphones/blackberrys/etc. I mean, I get it - sometimes you need to check your email because a client might have sent an urgent message, but do you really need to check Twitter/Facebook/YouTube while waiting for your food in a restaurant? I understand it's asking a lot of you to engage in conversation with an actual human being for the 15min it takes for the waiter to bring us our food, or even to just wait in silence during that time, but life can be boring, and you don't need to be entertained 100% of the time.

Whoever this bothers is weird as hell. Seriously? People are strange these days.

Ipods put you in your own little world..so you don't have to be bothered with conversation and just get to where your going. It's personal and if you like music why not have a soundtrack to your life. Why would what other people do ever bother someone?
