What's the appeal of the wings/horns x dayton service boots - Page 22

The cherry oil tanned brown turns out to be burgundy actually..crap. I am gonna ask them for oiled tan brown. I bet they can get a somewhat actual brown and not burgundy/cherry like leather since it is going into production and it is around 8-10 weeks. This whole process of getting these boots is taking way too long.

^wtf are you complaining about when you can get them for 125 off.
^ Just because it is $125 off does not mean i should just simply order a pair which turns out close 'burgundy' in colour after a few coats of OK oil.

^im talking about the waiting.
I was not referring to the waiting time but the time taken to get the order placed. The whole process involving the phone calls, trip down to local shoe stores and reading of other threads/posts to compare and make an informed decision on the sizing.

Took me about 15 minutes of reading + a 3 minute phone call. Maybe you're overthinking things a little?

Not really. I would not want to be in a situation to return the shoes back to Dayton if they dont fit right. And i am living in SE Asia. The shipping itself to my place is 1/3 of cost of the boots. Imagine sending them back and getting another pair. And with the apparent inconsistency in those who have either bought or had their measurements determined, there is no other way around this but to spend more than 15mins on getting the info and multiple calls to clarify my concerns.

Just put my order in, went with the distressed brown. Still don't have my mind made up though, my first choice was charcoal nubuck, but talking to them about the leather lead me to choose another. Person I spoke with said it doesn't match the thickness/quality of other Dayton leathers. Anyone have the direct from Dayton boots in charcoal nubuck that could comment? Edit: Should also mention I was able to request no Dayton stamp. We'll see if they honour the request though

In light of all of this sizing confusion on SF, I called again just now and asked point blank, what does a foot with length 10.25 measure to and she said 8.5. there's no way that everything that they are telling people is true because it all contradicts each other. We'll see if the new boots fit...I'm skeptical.
Interesting.. mine is also exactly 10.25 inches. I usually wear 9 to 9.5 (for example, I think I mistakenly ordered the 9.5 Katahdins which I should have ordered TTS at 9). They recommend sizing down .5 to 1 .. the 8s should work if the 8.5s are too large.
