What's the appeal of the wings/horns x dayton service boots - Page 119

My size 11 Dayton service boots (not W+H, direct from the Dayton factory) measured 13 3/16" long from heel to toe along the bottom of the sole and just under 4 1/2" wide at the widest point.

There is more sizing information in my old sale thread, here.

Be sure to post photos! If you visit the shop and can snap some photos there, please do.

For comparison: W+H x Dayton vs. Dayton Anniversary Special. Same size, colour and leather (charcoal nubuck), both new in box. These pics were taken in mid-2011.

Do they seem the same to you? Seeing some differences in the shape but maybe it's just the angle.

They are the same like apples and oranges are both round and edible, that's it. I bought a pair of the W+H version off Islander after receiving a pair of the regular ones from Dayton. It was the second pair from Dayton, and they managed to eff up the sizing again–putting an ultra wide last on a boot I repeatedly said to make as narrow as possible. Thinking about the time and money lost on this company afflicts my head with immediate pain plus angst. Tylenol 3-like relief comes when I put on the W+H ones tho. Ya the distressing, ya the logo on the sole, etcetera about aesthetics, but they fit completely differently. LIke a glove. No break in time. So not new news at all, but they utterly pooch screwed a fantastic boot.

hey guys, planning to order one.

If im a 8D in Alden's barrie last, what size should i be going for? or i should just go through the tedious way of measuring my feet and filling up the form they gave me.

Btw, what are the special requests that can be done? i read thru, one of them i found was ... not having the dayton stamp, anything else?

hahaha.. why not? is it the wait or something else i should know?

Took a year, and it had a hole on the ankle (and this was a replacement pair for one that was in an even worse condition). Don't do it unless youre a local and can get exchanged easily.
hmmm.. im not a local, guess i will try my luck, and try to get them to send picures of boots before sending it out or something..
besides that, the long 1 year was due to the overwhelming response during the discount period yes?

read this threak and u will find out
i read it once a year ago when everybody was having long wait issues.

But a year later, im thinking things are stabilized and there wont be such issues.

Unless... within the year, more things came up with dayton?
Yeah, layoffs. DON'T DO IT.

I don't know, I think he should buy them. What else will keep this threak going?
