I totally bought the first album when it came out. I went to high school in Des Moines, though, so maybe I have some semblance of an excuse. I also have a Linkin Park demo casette tape somewhere.

This is the confessional threak, right?

Haha at least you got out of Des Moines. Think I maybe stuck here for the rest of my life.

I love the Midwest but I had to get out of Iowa...that place is stagnant.

I have the first two albums Slipknot and Iowa. I think Cory has an amazing screaming voice. I have not heard any of their new songs, so I don't know what new direction the band has taken. I do listen to the songs when I am at the gym, it gets my blood pumping.

I was a big fan when I was younger. I even admit that I still think their first album was great - it sounded like someone had recorded pure anger - but each album that followed was incrementally less good. There were some bright spots on later albums, but they never recaptured the insanity and aggression of that first one. Every so often I'll listen to some of their stuff, the first album in particular, in a fit of nostalgia. However, I'm a lot less angry at 30 than I was at 20, so I don't really relate to it anymore.

I still listen to Stone Sour pretty regularly, though. I was really into metal when I was younger, so my taste for it hasn't completely gone away, but I just don't dig SlipKnot's angst like I used to. Stone Sour fills this place quite nicely; it's like SlipKnot for metal heads who aren't quite so metal anymore.

this should pretty much sum it up for everyone

I saw some pictures of the juggalo gathering. Never saw so many ugly people in one place.

Eh. I love my mom, she's my hero. I just also liked metal.
