also
Kevin Downey Jr
Louis ck
Jeffrey Ross
Gilbert Gottfried
Patrice O'neal
Don Rickles
Greg Fitzsimmons
Tracy Morgan
Chappelle
(just wanna go on the record and say Charlie Murphy is awful. He kept repeating his name like chappelle was saying it on the Rick James bit the entirety of his show.)

These are all people I have seen at least once and have made me lose it(Not so much Don Rickles, but hes just amazing)

Marc Maron
Todd Barry
Dave Attell
Louis CK
Patton Oswalt
Zach Galifianakis
And of course, the staples like Richard Pryor, Bill Hicks, and George Carlin
^^^I agree with whoever said most standup is god awful. There's a comedian coming to some ****** nightclub/bar in my town and in the radio advertisements, not even the laugh track is laughing. They played a minute of his material with zero laughs.

Also, I should have mentioned Steve Harvey. His stories about his family always have me in stitches.

Chrick Rock a few years ago. Now he is so-so.
Also, Dice Clay in his prime. I have some stuff on cassette that I laugh at.
Martin Lawrence in his prime.

I don't watch much standup and most of it is terribad but:

Lois CK
Dave Chappelle
Carlin
Patton Oswalt is pretty good

Also anyone who says Carlos Mencia and actually means it is beyond help.

Lenny Bruce-and I think all comics and advocates of the First Amendment owe him a debt.

Margaret Cho-a little too liberal on some things but still very funny.

Douglas Adams-not a comic but a very funny writer.
PG Wodehouse-see above
Chubby Jewish lesbian who wrote for the Village Voice and wrote a book called something like Metro
Dorthy Parker

Woody Allen-I know it's hard to believe, but at the time he was working, he was very funny. In one of his movies, there was this great bit in which he was standing in line at the movies and some jerk was saying something about how Marshall McLauhn said bla bla and he pulled the actual Marshall Mclauhn out from behind a sign to correct him. It was funnier when he did it.

They cut it for TV, too. Here's the uncut, longer version:

For his more conventional material, his most recent Late Show was pretty good:

The Sagat roast was ok. His humor is not for everyone.

Hahaha... I was just saying the other day how the only person on the planet less funny than Dane Cook is "that guy with the puppets."

My favorites are Katt Williams, David Cross, Richard Pryor, George Carlin, Eddie Izzard... I've seen some Louis C.K. that I like, but not enough to judge fully.

I mean, he's a great story teller, but every time he has a new special on tv everyone thinks they ARE dane cook and retell his jokes to death and they're just now funny anymore...
