bump bump, does anyone have an alternative?

I have a bunch of smartwool socks but they start to pill after a while and the wool has become very thin at the heel and ball of my foot.

How long do they typically last you guys? I think mine are about a year old, I don't want to buy socks every year...or is that normal?

I wear the PhD light weight running socks on a daily basis.
