Bachelor party in Washinton, DC

Next week one of my buddies is getting married, and before the wedding we're going to go to DC for a couple of days.

We were thinking of hitting some Georgetown bars on the first night, and then go to Arcadiana for dinner the next night.

Any suggestions for Georgetown bars? How about any ideas for things to do during the day?

Strip clubs are not an option- sorry.

I would really appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Georgetown - My favorites are Old Glory, Tombs, Clydes, J Pauls, The Guards. None of these are clubby or anything like that. Just fun places to drink.

Acadiana (not ARcadiana) is very good, and right near Chinatown - there's a good amount of bars in that area too.

No strip clubs? I know the strip clubs in DC are lame, but a bachelor party with no strip clubs? Hmm.

During the day - there are tons of wineries just outside of DC, you can get a bus tour to take you around. If youre not into wine, it could be boring, but you get to drink.

Other ideas - Caps game? Wizards game? Segway tours? or check out Top Golf in Alexandria, its a fun driving range/golf target game, and they have food and a bar.

Seriously, no strip clubs?

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the bar suggestions- that is mainly what we're looking for. Cool bars to hang out in and drink. Not really the club scene.

There is a Caps game Thursday, I think. But no Wizards.

Top Golf sounds cool, that might be perfect.

As far as strip clubs go- think the whipped guy from The Hangover, and you'd be getting an close idea of us. Most of us are married, and there would be hell to pay.

Thanks man.

I predict you'll want to make a break away late night titty run to Royal Palace on Connecticut Ave. That's where you can see some "real women." Make sure you are properly drunk first. When you're done there, cap the evening by punching each other in the face once with moderate force, one at a time and in turn.

Skeet shooting in the Virginia or Maryland countryside?

Dinner at the chef's table at Citronelle in Georgetown (or some other restaurant chef's table), with lots of good wine? (plan for 4 hours)

Monster Truck Jam at Verizon Center? Wrestling (WWF) or Roller Derby? (Roller Derby is becoming big in DC area and is supposedly lots of fun to watch)

Running "race" around the Mall/monuments, with penalty for loser (such as paying for dinner)

Regarding strip clubs and the "we're married so there'd be hell to pay" thing, I don't understand. This suggests you'd tell your wives that you went to one. Why on earth would you do that?

If you get drunk and change the no strip club policy check out Good Guys in Glover Park (north of Georgetown on Wisconsin Blvd.

Back to your request: It depends on the scene you're looking for. Classy check out The Ritz Carlton in Foggy Bottom (walking distance to/from Georgetown), L2 (more of a lounge with a membership list but you can pay cover to get in), Cafe Milano.

If you want more regular hangouts: Third Edition, Modern (more club), Gin and Tonic and Townhall (both in Glover Park/North Georgetown the scene is stereoytpical Georgetown Uni student - douchey guys and hot girls fun and no frills though).

There are a few more but they're more restaurant with bars.

Consider Blue Duck Tavern as a place to start the evening.

Service was superb. Atomsphere was over the top.

Recommended sitting outside on the patio with a view of a beautiful fountain

Recommended dishes

Roasted Organic Chicken
Glazed Carrots
BDT Fries (very heavy.. but tasty)

Ideal for a special romantic dinner.. But not a first date.

Maybe I will have to reconsider the whole strip club decision.

Those all look cool. What neighborhood is H st in? What metro stop? Palace of wonders looks crazy- is it a cool place to just hang out in too?
