Nothing is ever for sure.

Hockey's all we got up here man! For team sports, the US has basketball, baseball, and more recently soccer. Clearly we need our hockey wins to keep our societal order.

Just curious, how's Jordan Schroeder doing for team USA?

^I think he's about a point per game. They have him playing on the checking line with Tyler Johnson though, and the PK as well as the PP.

GREAT 1st period...I love how we're pounding Hall...he's terrific but from what Ive seen of him he can't respond to the physical game.

Great tourney!

Yeah, that really was one of the finest periods of hockey I've seen in awhile. You have to think our boys will get at least one "make up" call in the second period; hopefully we don't back off on the physical game because of the calls.

^I dunno, the Americans have it right. They are playing a high energy game but not going out of their way to make hits (which cause stupid IIHF non-penalty-penalties) and their team defense is much better than ours. Right now I would bet on them winning this game, but anything can happen in the third.

Well we gotta beat the americans on the transition, they're blocking all our shots. Pieterangelo is back for a full period so hopefully that'll be the big deal breaker.

We can beat the states go canada go

This is a hell of a lot of fun to watch. I can't remember the last time I've even seen a hip check thrown in an NHL game.

I too would rather be a forward with the US defence (note the spelling) behind me - although, with Canadian jerseys obviously. Allen definitely hasn't looked his best, but he'll make the saves when it matters. I thought Allen would see the bench before we'd see Lee get yanked, but I'm definitely not complaining about that. It is going to be a one-goal game, when it's all said and done I'm sure. In 3 I'll give the edge to Canada. If it goes to OT, it's advantage US. In a shoot-out, well, let Canada's 90% average on their last 15 attempts tell the story of how that will go.
