What Ever Happened to High-Rise Jeans for Men? - Page 3

you may want to try April 77. Their Cross model has a slim, almost skinny fit and the rise is pretty high. i really love the black waxy version, wanted to buy them at Barneys this fall, but the one pair in my size was a little short in the inseam.

My dad used to hate that the only jeans you could get in the 60's were ones with 12" rises. When you're under 6', those look kind of goofy.

I'm 6'-2". Even wearing 501s which are considered high rise by contemporary standards, there's just enough back rise to cover my butt crack. Do clothing companies assume all people who wear jeans are midgets?

Really? I'm around 6ft 1 and I've found the 501 STF I own to have a bit too much rise for my liking.

most of the our legacy jeans have a mid to slightly high rise. if i wasn't so lazy, i would go measure the rise on one of my pairs.

NM, removed post (just realized I made basically the same post 3 weeks ago. No reason to subject you to it again)

I hate how companies assume if you have a small waist you must also be short. I find a rise under 10.5 uncomfortable, but since I'm 6ft with a 30 waist it's often really hard to find jeans with an adequate rise.

30 have 11" front rise, 15" back...29 has 11" front rise, 14" back.

Where are you guys wearing your jeans that you need such high rises?

I like 10-11" I am short though but I don't think that has anything to do with it...the rise is the difference between inseam and outseam.

Sugar Cane makes a 66 repro with a higher rise. Julian Red Calis have a longer rise (what happened to this company? I like their jeans much better than apc's?).

I tried on, then bought, a pair of Wrangler's Original fit jeans, and they fit the bill of being a highwaisted skinny jean.  The waist came up above my navel, and they're a snug to tight fit in the seat and thighs.  Plus, they're under 20 bucks.  Pair them with a white tee and you'll feel like James Dean.  Leave all the low rise jeans for the fat chicks to wear.  (sorry all you fat chicks out there)

Low ride jeans look awful on guys - looks like you're trying to hide a belly overhang (muffin top), but I don't put the clothes in the shops!smile.gif

Iron Heart has a model, 1955s, that is repro of the classic 50's cut with a high waist. Not cheap though. http://www.ironheart.co.uk/bottoms/1955s.html

I bought a pair of Imperial Brand Shearer jeans recently. They have a 12"+ rise. Loving these jeans and my mate's fades on the Imperial Cattleman (low rise version of these jeans) were outstanding.

Measurements can be found via Self Edge (who currently have them in stock): http://www.selfedge.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=33&products_id=273&zenid=655c222406df682d0e26b5fba53a8930

The black Shearer's are currently on sale at Half Sleeve, but will only ship sale items within Australia. They are based in Sydney: http://store.halfsleeve.net/product/imperial-brand-clothing-shearer-black

I'm about 5'9 wearing size 34 Shearer's, so the 12.7" rise is a little excessive on me. Obviously I'm not tucking my shirt in or showing off a bet.
