American Apparel Shrinkage

I'm sorry if this is a repeat of a previous post. Can anyone tell me how much the American Apparel t-shirts shrink? I'm asking specifically about the fine jersey and 50/50 t's.

The fine jersey t's shrink about .5" in the chest, but quickly stretch back, and about .5 to 1" in length.

Is this shrinkage under what conditions? Washing or drying? If they are air dried only will this prevent any shrinkage? I am in the middle area where large is too big and medium is just right without shrinking.

As far as I'm concerned, I'd love to know about shrinkage with normal washing and drying. I'm not concerned enough to line dry t-shirts.

The shrinkage has never seemed too bad to me, and I have a few of their products.

The chest is consistent when line and machine dried. But again, they stretch back. The length is closer to .5 when line dried, and 1" when machine dried.

I bought a few baby thermal long sleeve tshirts and henleys and they shrunk about 1" when I put them in the dryer.
