I was lucky enough to stumble across this at another forum:

"You can still make good use of these magazines and books. For example I read GQ, Esquire, and Details every month but rarely buy any of the clothes they depict. I just look for ideas and when I see something I like, I replicate it with less expensive items.

I used to date a lady who always looked like a million dollars despite the fact that her clothes came from places like Burlington Coat Factory and Steinmart. She told me that anytime she saw a look that she liked she too would attempt to replicate it at the discount stores. She was terrific at this."



I can't believe there is a high-end version of the way he looks, but I'll take his word for it. And did this stunning lady's Big Box (sorry) replication technique apply to her choosing boyfriends as well?
