Another vote for The XX here. Then again, I wasn't looking for music in 2009 until I discovered them. Oh, and Grizzly Bear has been excellent so far.

Dark Was The Night Various Artists-- 50 cents a song, and all the proceeds go to a good cause.

Thank god nobody has said The Resistance. That was a fucking let down. The only thing I can think of that really grabbed my attention from 09 was Them Crooked Vultures. It wasn't the best album ever, but it was pretty damned solid.
