Shirts too wide

Thread Starter
This is probably a dumb question, but here goes anyway: I recently lost about 15 pounds. My neck size has only dropped from 15.5 to 15 and my tummy is slightly smaller, but there's not that big of a difference there. Where I seem to have lost the most mass is on my sides between my waist and armpits, ie. I am only about 75% as "wide" as I was before. The result is that I am sinking in my 15.5 dress shirts and now, even my 15s. There is so much space lengthwise (ie. there is a good six inches of empty space on both sides of my chest) that it is causing my shirts to bunch up around the tie area when I wear a suit, and it looks bad. I suppose I will have to take all my good shirts in to have them tailored? In the future, does this mean I should stick to "slim fit" shirts only? (I assume slim fits, of which I have none, are meant for people with my problem? Please correct if I'm wrong.) Can anyone suggest good brands that make slim fit or dress shirts that are not too wide in the chest? Thanks in advance.

Try a slim or athletic fit. I run into the same problem as you and now whem I'm looking at shirts i tend to start with athletic or slimmer fits. For comparison I'm (15.5 x 33)
