I'm just assuming it'll sell out nearly instantly from preorders and jcrew hawks.

I have two JCrew belts like that, cloth all in one piece, and no patch sewn on--I'll sell them for only $60 each.

Just placed the order. I asked the guy to pre-order the red chambray shirt that is supposed to be coming out on 2/23. He put me on hold for five minutes, saying he had to look into it...

When he came back to the phone, he told me it wasn't a chambray, but the "selvedge utility shirt" in "sunwashed red"

Anyone else hear the same thing?

Told me it was $98 bucks, applied student discount yada yada. Also said its shipping in March (but didn't know when), which surprised me a bit because according to this thread, it's 2/23.

Someone else call in an order and describe the shirt as red chambray shirt and see if they tell you the same thing.
Looking at the site, I see that the $98 utilities are all chambray, so i'm fairly confident that i ordered the shirt i want (the non-chambray utilities are on the site for 69.50).

The item number for the shirt I ordered is 24053

I was told the same thing (sunwashed red utility shirt), however the estimated shipping date was late February not March.

No item numbers. Just general descriptions. All of the pix have already been posted around the net for the past few months. Nothing new.

For ex, our beloved red chambray was called "chambray utility shirt"

I was told 2/23 for the ship date by the guy I did my pre-order with.

Sunwashed red utility: 24053

we're slowly piecing it together. i wonder how badly the people answering the phones are making fun of us...

"there have been five hundred people calling to pre-order an item! these people are all pre-ordering shirts that they haven't seen! they don't even know the price! they don't even know what it's called!" ...

i'm sure that's why they put me on hold for five minutes--to have a laugh.

yes the hype on this shirt is unreal! Personally, I could never throw $98 at a J Crew shirt, not when MJK or Gitman or EG on sale could be had.

I'm not eating anything but red food until 2/23. (Maybe then I can fit into this in an XS)

If you're on the bigger side, those brands are impossible. I couldn't be happier with my jcrew vintage chambray for $98, and some of their TMxjcrew shirts are worth the retail.

I've shut off all physical communication with the outside world, boarded myself up in my house, have sworn off women, and suspended work indefinitely, until I get the red chambray shirt.

I'm not a workwear guy. Been wanting a red chambray for a few years, and with the gift certificate I got for Xmas from my girlfriend's mom, I can get one

I am certainly on the bigger side! 6' 190 lbs. I wear a medium in J Crew, a medium in Gitman, and a large in MJK. The latter two are far superior IMO. I know I'm picking the wrong thread to hate on the Crew, but when their price point jumps to $100 for one shirt I have to compare to other, better, shirtmakers.

Yeah, they might very well be ten times better. Thing is I've never touched those brands. When I say bigger (for me) I mean minimum p2p 25 and shoulders should be 21, 20 I can handle but below that is pushing it.

With egs maximum size at 23 p2p, deals have come and passed me buy. Same can be said of Our Legacy, APC, BoO, WvsG, etc - Gitman I don't know, but shirt by shirt works.

Jcrew threads are good because no one has enough brand loyalty (I think brand loyalty is dumb anyways) to not point out the good and the bad. Probably the most balanced threads on SWD.
