If you like it, get it. Don't listen to the philistines that tell you otherwise. They're all just people who don't have the balls to do they really want . . . except for the people who are right. Namely me. Personally, I think there is some truth to the annoyance of toggles being up there that high, but I believe the initial charm has won you over.

I had a gift card lying around so I bought a jaspe shirt and a wristwatch strap. Total (including s/h) was 37$. Can't wait to get the flannel (the nice one) and the Celtic green shirt. ( I'm a sucker for striped shirts)

+1. There isn't much in the sale section.

What the hell is the difference between Bowery and Essential Chinos?

I called J.Crew... they just read off the same descriptions I see. The Essentials were lightly washed and are crisp two ply cotton twill. The Bowery are crisp compact cotton twill.

Which is more formal, which is more casual? They clearly show the difference between say the Essential and Broken-In Chinos... but none with the Bowery.

So what is the difference?

I have it. half of me loves it because it fits great and the color is like a mix of blue green and gray.
Although it is very top heavy and kind of a pain in the ass to put on and off if your in a hurry because I tend to put in on carefully since it does stretch a little easy since its part linen.

Been wanting to sell it though and get this instead for awhile now:

Been waiting for it to go on sale but I dont think it ever will.

The essential are your standard casual chinos. The bowery are definitely more dressy. They're lightweighter weight than the chinos and could almost pass as cotton slacks.

Does anybody have this?

If so, how is it?

Anyone have the Stanton shorts in 29? How wide are the legs at the hem?

Thought I'd ask in this thread since the Crew offers them, can anyone with experience compare the sizing of Seavees 9/63 Pantone Oxfords with say Chucks, PF Flyers, Common Projects, etc.?

I know it has been discussed before, but I find it crappy they won't give you the same free shipping that you get for ordering normal items over the RED PHONE in the store when you try and order sale items. The whole point of offering free shipping over the RED PHONE is to get you into the store. Either way you are there.

No, Bele Chere is not really a beer fest. It's a music and art fest. And it was like 100 in the shade, so water was an absolute necessity.

There was beer there, of course. Asheville is the #1 beer city in the country, after all. But it wasn't the purpose of the fest.
