I've seen the slub cotton (but didn't try on) and bought the sun faded in both colors. I prefer the sun faded, at least for what I was going for. The sun faded is a sweatshirt, feels like one...fits somewhat slim, and has a reasonably large neck opening- which me and my somewhat large for my frame neck appreciates. The slub cotton looks more like one of their crewneck sweaters but with the sweatshirt-type detailing at the neck and slub fabric, for the most part it seems more like a sweater while the sun faded is more a traditional sweatshirt.
Took a few days off to see my new grandson in Denver. Wore my wheat vintage jeans, blue chambray, and white JPs mostly. Also my Levis 501s, a j. polo from last year, a tan j. utility shirt, and some other random stuff. Wore the utility jacket for the plane travel--very good for travel with all the pockets, and it's just light enough.
chambray straw trilby in action: also just got the selvage 484s for 104 bucks. it's a good spring/summer weight denim. wore my kmw rockers in 80+ degree weather and my calves were sweating. 13 oz is definitely not the way to go. the denim is considerably lighter, and made in canada, plus has the same stripe lining as the chinos and pearlized donut buttons on the fly. asked the folks at the crew about weight to get a sure number but so far i'm satisfied.
