Nope. The nailhead is slimmer, smaller. I speak as one who owns both of which you speak.

Do you still need the code? If so PM me. I got one in the mail but I'm a student so I don't need it.

I broke out my red chambray for the first time today and noticed how ridiculously baggy the sleeves were, have any of you gotten them altered/tailored? (I bought my typical J. Crew size, -1 from my normal size)

If you like the suit, buy it!
95% of American's don't wear a suit anyway. The 5% who do, will think you are wearing a costume or you suit was a factory second/defective. But the majority of people will not notice or care.

Edit- What kind of tie do you wear with a Ludlow jacket?

A ludlow sportcoat is fine to me though since you can wear it w/o a tie and it's more casual anyway. I actually do like the overall silhouette ,just not the lapels.

Exactly.

I was thinking about getting the sleeves slimmed down as well. Then I wouldn't have to roll up my sleeves all the time since it looks like I'm swimming in the shirt.

This Chino Ludlow SC is on sale in 'Desert Khaki' fabric. Does anyone know if there are accompanying pants in this fabric? Would love to wear it as a casual suit.

Are the essential chinos nice? I'm thinking about getting a pair.

No. It looks the same as the fabric they use in/on their Chino Suits but it's of lesser quality.

In my experience, the JCrew essential provide the best value in this cost range.

Nope, it is a sportcoat after all. You're probably better off getting a lighter (or darker) colored chino and going sporty.

As a matter of fact, that is what I wore to dinner last night. I ordered the coat Friday and it arrived in the nick of time

By "most people", I meant everyone but you and kdsimpson. Not surprisingly, I favor thinner ties (around 2.75") and one of my Dad's old repp ties that's probably skinnier still.

Ordered on Apr 28th, and it shipped on May 4th... pretty slow turnaround. Shipping at checkout said 4-6 business days, and now under order status it says 9 days.

Impatient + Not impressed

The gingham sportcoat is a ripoff of Rugby's from last spring. The details are very similar.

Wow. That's interesting, since J Crew has claimed to have been ripped off by other brands in the past.
