Yeop.

My father is usually very well put together: slacks, dress shoes, dress shirt, sweater, etc. He is very orderly about his appearance, with his hair combed and everything worn purposefully. That being said, I think his color choice and concept of fit differs greatly from SF. He enjoys wearing black on occasion, wears bicycle toe shoes, his jackets are usually a size too large, and my mother just bought him a bracelet . Let's just say his favorite store is Joseph A. Bank.

All things considered, it could have been much worse. Much worse.

My dad is a plumber, so most of the time he's just wearing jeans and a t-shirt or a polo shirt. However, when he puts on a suit, he usually looks good (but it's usually because he's wearing someething of mine). Sometimes I'll start wondering where one of my MTM shirts went, and all of a sudden I'll run into my dad and see him wearing it. I don't even know how he gets them since we don't live together.

My dad dresses nicely.

He seldom dons so much as a tie most of the time, but when the occasion calls for it he turns out nicely. My grandfathers, though, went dressed up considerably more often, and were more presentable even around the house. Actually, today I'm wearing one of my grandfather's old jackets.

+1. My dad is probably a more drastic example of this. He used to be dressed really well and taught me a lot with regards to not looking like a slob. However, now that the is retired he has fully embraced this hobo lumberjack look. He loves this flannel plaid jacket I gave him for Christmas awhile ago and it is all he wears...with sweatpants and black loafers.

My father too is retired and no longer is quite as well-dressed as he used to be when going to the office or the club. He has always had an appreciation for and knowledge of good stuff though. His wardrobe used to be and I'd guess still is largely composed of Sulka, Brooks, Paul Stuart, F.R. Tripler, and even a few old A&F pieces. Sulka was his favorite, I think, from what I recall. He was a big fan of Peal (Brooks Bros.) shoes, and I recall he had some Maxwell and Church shoes too. He certainly didn't get this knowledge from his father though - I think he got it from having worked in NYC as a big-firm lawyer for many years.

Dad borrowed all my GQs from my year-long subscription that ran out. He also borrowed my Dressing the Man book (I didn't want to gift it to him it seemed like an underhand insult to do that imo). After that he stepped his game up. Could probably manage decently in the MC crowd. He isn't really down with the trendy super slim shit. Just normal fitting stuff instead of 80s oversize style he used to wear. Also pays more attention to detail. Wondering if I should point him towards B&S.

I would say my father is typically well-dressed. My late mother was always well-dressed.

Similarly, my dad = no, but my grandparents - both whom fled Austria for the US in WWII when Hitler invaded but stick to their euro 30/40s fashion sensibilities - are still excellent dressers!
