Monk straps: Any regrets?

hiya SF

i am brand new. want to share my AE newbergs. Picked up on clearance, ~$150. They were a weird light tan with a matte finish and a crepe sole. they fit and feel awesome though, so i thought id darken them up and see how i felt about them. here are the results of a quick kiwi brown creme and a little buffing.

Since my shoe care experience is mostly limited to mink oil and a horsehair brush on my collection of Iron Rangers, I'm not really sure what to expect, but i definitely like them better brown and a little bit shiny.

do dye jobs like this normally last a long time?

Im thinking of doing the same thing...but I dont want to have to redo it every month.

the polish has held up okay. but after a few wears i realized that these newbergs really should have been left alone. It comes down to the crepe sole; It just looks weird now with a polished finish on the upper. I will probably strip the brown polish and try to get back to the original. Hoping it will be a little bit darker than the original peanut and i can just enjoy a very nicely fitting casual shoe.

I do - these Jeffery West for instance, look great with jeans IMO (not pictured here). Oversized buckle helps, if that makes sense - certainly casual, not tan though.

Hello gents,
Have a question of the AE Mora 1.0. Does it have the elastic bands under the top flap? I'm pretty sure the Norwich did. but can't remember the Mora.

I though only the mora 2.0 had the elastic flaps, but someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

a shiny metal buckle has always been the turn-off for me.
