Saw one for the first time last week and it seemed to have access to any song...ever.

How does it do that?

I read the overview on the sonos webpage but am still a little confused.

Sonos essentially sets up a wireless network in your home and plays music from a subscription service such as Rhapsody, internet radio, or your own music collection on a laptop. I have a small system and love it!
