I will be doing this eventually... I just don't care enough at the moment to bother.

having a poor GPU will effect overall performance of the hardware. rendering websites, playing video games on the nexus one...basically anything that is graphical.

even playing a simple game like doodle jump, you'll notice the difference. doodle jump on the nexus one is a bit laggy compared to the iphone, which has no lag whatsoever.

So you sit there and play with an iPhone and Nexus one at the same time, cursing the fact that you own both and are forced to play both against each other or what? I haven't noticed any of these problems. Why? Because my last phone was a Moto Q. The only other phone I've done a side by side comparison of is the Droid Incredible. And there's a lot of data out there showing that the Nexus holds it's own. Against a lot of phones, including the iPhone at normal use levels. I could give a shit less what the iPhone does, because iPhones are pieces of shit that are made by a piece of shit company, generally used by pieces of shit, to do piece of shit things in piece of shit places at piece of shit times. You should quit shitting up my Not an iPhone thread with all this bullshit. There are a million iPhone threads out there for you. Go find one.

Tokyo Slim has such a good poker face, I truly can't tell what his opinions are on Apple, Inc.

I am nigh unreadable. I get that a lot.

No one said the iPhone > the Nexus One. I was addressing the issues with the Nexus One with the articles and stating what people had experienced. and Yes I had both phones at the same time.

PROOF of this 'data' that shows that the Nexus One is better than the Droid Incredible? Last time I read, the Incredible is the best Android phone out there.

What the hell are you talking about? Where did I say the nexus was better than the incredible?

I said that in a side by side comparison, my nexus and my bosses incredible were virtually indestinguishable performance wise, but his download speeds are about a quarter second faster.

That being said, I'll be getting 2.2 first, so in a few weeks my phone will be faster than his. At least temporarily.

Supposed to increase proccessing speed 5x or something. Also updates the kernel and will now recognize all the available ram... which is nice.

Not to mention flash, tethering, auto update apps, saving apps to SD, and a bunch of other cool shit.

trading my hero to my sister for her sprint upgrade so i can get an evo 4g.

worst part about it is i think it will be just like the hero as far as updating to the new android froyo.

my hero came with android 1.5 and still runs it even though 1.6 was already coming out when it released.

now the evo 4g has 2.1 and is releasing at the same time nexus gets 2.2!

sense ui is nice but they really need to rethink it if it gets in the way of these android releases everytime (they are seemingly going to update android incredibly frequently)

i think google/htc seems to just take turns giving each wireless company a newer cooler thing but never allow them all to have equvalent devices or software updates at the same time.

Interesting note about the massive speed boost my Nexus One is about to receive. It's evidently less about processor speed and more about them seriously boosting the virtualization engine on the phone.

I like the not-so-subtle digs at Apple in there.

Hi guys, great thread! I've been looking for one like this. I've had the G1 since it came out and need to update my phone soon. do you feel like it's a good idea to get an N1 now, or are there better phones coming out? I would love a sliding keyboard, and a "pure" Android OS (I hear that HTC and Samsung and most other carriers put a lot of software on top of android) I'm not too up on what's coming out for android phones in the near future, but my G1 is fading fast and I would like to get something in the next month or so. Thanks

I pulled the trigger two weeks despite knowing about the new phones on the horizon. I've been playing with my Nexus non-stop. IMO, most of the new phones coming out just have incremental upgrades for the most part. Plus, I bought it unlocked on T-Mobile so that should save me a couple of hundred over the next two years or so. I really love this phone.
