Going to Japan

Well this summer I'm heading off to Japan for a week, and it'll be my second time since a few years ago. Unfortunately, back then I wasn't aware of Japan's place in the fashion world, nor of my "denimheadedness." And, after seeing everything that coldrice has brought to you guys, I'm REALLY excited.

So before I go this summer, can those experienced individuals (coldrice this means you) give me some tips for shopping around and also some places to hit up? I'd like to know where all the great streetwear stores are. Thanks.

i will go to parco .. it's a small shopping complex selling all guy clothings...they have one in Tokyo and one in osaka. Plenty of diesel shops too the last time i went there. just explore all shopping centers u come across... (avoid the all gals shopping centers)

Man, you gotta check out the Prada flagship store in Omotesando/Aoyama area.

The Ginza Hermes is also nice, but the Prada store is just breathtaking. The walk around Omotesando up to the Prada store has Puma, Comme Ca, Adidas concept, Ralph Lauren, A.P.C., Dior, D & G, Louis Vuitton, UNIQLO, Jean Paul Gaultier, Gucci, and about a million other places. For gods sake, even if you don't buy anything, wander around!

For real culture shock check out Candy Stripper.

sorry, my internet is down at home so i'm in an internet cafe so i can't post a lot.. and my girlfriend will be here in about 12 hours. so basically walk around harajuku/shibuya. print out the superfuture maps. they pretty much have everything on there- but don't be afraid to just walk up some stairs to a 2nd floor shop just to see what's there- you might find something interesting. ships carries spruce and w&h.

Yeah... seriously. I've been missing the homeland a bit lately. I wish I had more money. (or any money at all) I'd check out the Ayoyama maps too, as there is a Pringle of Scotland store I found in the area last time I was there, as well as Issei Miyake, Yohji Yamamoto, Costume National, Paul Smith, Martin Margiela, Vivienne Westwood, and etc. in the neighborhood. I would also highly reccomend eating at Maisen (on the Harajuku map) for some excellent tonkatsu. Ask for the hirekatsu teishoku.

A friend is visiting Japan in a couple of weeks, and I asked her to bring me back a pair of Sugar Canes (I figured there would be a better chance of finding 28's in Japan, plus there's the price difference.) In Tokyo, where should she look? thanks guys
