It depends.. now I would rather take cognac because it is a better warmer (-25c outside at the moment), but usually I´d go for scotch.

There is no "versus"!.......

I adore them both, and have a serious collection of whiskies and cognacs.

Favorite whiskies:

George T Stagg bourbon, Yamazaki 1990 sherry butt, Ardbeg Supernova, Talisker 30yr old, Highland Park 40yr old.

Favorite cognacs:

Tesseron XO lot 29 Exception, Raymond Ragnaud Heritage, Frapin Font Pinot

Recently opened a bottle of Tesseron 29. Thought it was a bit woody and muted. :: ~ H

I still dont understand the whole drinking in the U.S. college system. Do they really crack down enough to call in officers for simply possessing alcohol, or was something else involved? I`m currently in my final year at a canadian university and the only enforced drinking infraction if for drinking in public, which is merely a fine. Despite the fact that I attend a more ``upper-end`` university, I`ve drank with dorm officials on numerous occasions at the age of 17. As well, my first week of second year I found myself drinking with the president of the university itself, in a dorm he was visiting.

So is U.S. drinking law enforced on campus`, or merely when they think it`s warrented?

First few weeks of Fall semester every year during undergrad it was amusing to read all the public urination arrests in the student newspaper after each weekend.

After much debate I voted cognac, but I'd take JW Gold over most entry level cognacs any day.
