I like bespoke clothes, but I have started lifting weights..

Anyone else in this situation? The problem is not so much the clothes I have already - I don't mind slowly replacing them as I increase in size. But I still want to.. have clothes which fit me great. There's no way around switching to off-the-rack for a period of time, is there?

Don't overthink this "situation."

Bespoke clothes usually have quite a bit of extra cloth in the seams ("inlays") for size changes (see this for a great example). It is inconvenient when you have to wait for your clothes to be altered, but having a healthy body is more important. I recently gained 20 lbs from lifting, and am going through this process, too. I also warned my tailor that I will probably add another 15 before I'm done when he was fitting my next order. --Andre

It's not a big deal unless you wear your suits skin-tight or plan on putting a couple hundred pounds on your deadlift.

I was in the same situation although I was only aiming for 10 - and my tailor said not to worry.

Seriously, don't think about it until your clothes are actually too small. It's not as easy as you might think to outgrow a shirt.

No, they look worse because the shirt appears undersized.

Agreed. I wouldn't worry too much - work out, stay healthy, and pick up a few new clothes if the need arises.
