Mates apartment because mine has no views. Pretty nice view. Its actually right next to where I went to school. I had this view everyday for 6 years and took it for granted.

Kind of cute, but sucky. A much older gentleman I have worked with, and traveled with on business, for many many years, is getting re-married (his first wife was plagued by Alzheimer's for years, and died of Lou Gehrig's disease about 3 years ago) on NYE at his house on the MD eastern shore. He is about 72, now mostly retired, but he and I are still travel companions in Europe and the Far East about 2-3 times a year. He was very devoted to his ex-wife, but as he grew older and traveled he really became more of a man of the world than he could ever have expected when he first met his wife (at age 14). She was very quirky and a PITA, wanted nothing to do with traveling or new experiences, and IMO she really held him back over his life. Still, very honorably, he remained faithful and loving til the end, though the last 2-3 years were very difficult as he was essentially a full-time nurse to a woman who no longer knew who he was. Her passing, in the end, was a blessing of sorts, and he suddenly had a chance to experience life anew. At his age, he is re-invigorated and very much in love, and I am honored I will be there to celebrate with him and his family. Still, I will be with mostly really old people and my co-worker's family at a house party about an hour and a half from home. So, sweet, neat, but wish it were happening on some other day instead of NYE.
