Keeping Your Child's Hair

Have you ever heard of anyone keeping a bag of their child's hair? One of my friends did this, and they acted like it was totally normal. In fact, his mom showed me a huge bag of his hair. Is that weird?

I know people who keep a little bunch from the kid's first haircut, but after that it's kinda creepy.

Yeah so I have two disgusting placenta stories.

My friend's new age bat shit crazy sister FUCKING ATE HER PLACENTA. She made it into a stir fry AND ATE IT.

Another story I know involves the sister of some interior decorator I know. She had it vacuum packed and then froze it.

Jesus christ.

I refused to get my hair cut until I was 4 or something. My hair used to be long, straight, and white-blonde. We still have my hair in a braid from that first cut, but nothing else. Also, there are reasons to eat your placenta (though I'm not sure if they're backed up with scientific evidence), most other primates do it.

This is a superstitious thing related to nutritional requirements. In modern day, it is simply offputting.

Yuk.

I have heard of folks keeping a single lock of hair -- small, usually braided -- from someone very dear to them. This, I think, is relatively normal. But a big ol' bag? That's gross.

Dude, I met a guy that had shared some placenta soup with his GF' s parents. That's right, he eat another human's placenta with her fucking parents. He was awaiting trial for a b/t/k murder, not sure if there is a connection but feel free to draw your own conclusions.

Everything beyond their first teeth or a small lock of hair is a bit weird...
