Better late than never: Phantom Menace critique - Page 2

I love how the other important looking people who watched the film in the private theater had zero reaction to it at all. Some look like they were woken out of a deep sleep. And from what I understand they put that in the special features on the dvd?

PSA: His Star Trek reviews are equally awesome. Generations was lol.

Amazing But he did take 70 minutes to rip a movie apart.

Ioved the reviews but thought the forays into fake misogynstic violence were pretty lame and tired.

If that was cut out, it would've been amazing.

Watched this last week. As a Star Wars fan who enjoyed the prequels, for what they're worth, I found the review to be so goddamned true in every regard.

The part where he asks fundamental questions like "who is the main character" and pokes holes in basic plot points, all you can do is shake your head and laugh at George Lucas. While I do think the prequel can exist in its own rights, the phantom menace really didn't need to take place.

The only one of the prequels that I enjoyed was Attack of the Clones tbh. Oh and the Darth Maul fight in Phantom for the choreography.

For some reason it seems like a lot of people actually like Revenge. I can't imagine why. I mean this is the movie where you get stuff like "Hey the sith lord we've been looking for for years is so powerful and intelligent that he can hide his identity right under our noses? The best fighter in the entire Jedi order should stay out of it because he's a little emo. I'd much rather have these useless old guys with me." and "From my point of view the jedi are evil even though I murdered an entire roomful of children!". Oh and let's not forget Natalie Portman saying "fuck this i'm just gonna die of sadness" after just giving birth.

edit: </rant>

This is actually really funny. I fucking hate star wars but this guy's technical analysis makes a lot of sense on a fundamental level. he's pretty funny.

You are entirely devoid of culture and are actually a bit of a wiener.

Oh. Wait.

The last time I saw a complete Star Wars movie was 20 years ago.

That was the best part of the movie. If it wasn't for the damned G rating, they could have shown the actual slaughter too.
