Carpet Cleaners

Looking for suggestions as a christmas gift for my parents. I'm looking around on Amazon for customer reviews but would look for other input on brands and features/issues to look out for. Price range is $200 max.

Another Bissell 9200 ProHeat 2X : http://www.amazon.com/Bissell-9200-P...sr=8-2-catcorr

The second seems to have a problem with leaving water behind (means wet carpets filled with semi dirty water)

Do they really need a permanent one? The non-professional versions suck. Poorly. The best bet is to go down to HomeDepot/Lowes and rent one of the RugDoctors for a day.

I own the Hoover and it performs very well. It has paid for itself over and over again.

Interesting. It gets great reviews at Amazon too but ConsumerReports rated it fair at best.

Just cleaned our carpets this weekend with a Rug Doctor, worked great.
